Austin, Texas
I’m a born and raised Texas gal who’s tried and failed to lose my regional accent. And I say y’all a lot. If you catch me in the right mood, I might even throw in the occasional Texas saying. Y’all smellin’ what I’m steppin’ in?
I’m the proud parent of a teenage girl who thinks I am actively trying to embarrass her AT ALL TIMES, and an elementary-age son who is basically a tornado of karate moves and fart jokes.
We have an old yellow lab named Disco that I absolutely adore. I’ve been known to whisper “You’re my favorite child” to him at least once a day.
We also have a bearded dragon named Godzilla, but frankly, he’s gross and scary and my kids take care of him so I don’t have to.
I’m usually training for a race (running), but nothing crazy. The longest I’ve done is a 10-miler. Also, I use the word “training” loosely. Same with the word “usually.”
I live right outside of Austin, TX, in a little suburb full of hippies, commuters, and the occasional smattering of cows in pastures.
